Looming to Fill

There is your fate
in the distance
comes hurtling
speed of light
runs you over
red mist cloud
death is driving
laughing conductor
your train arrived on time

Time is now up
not for everyone
specific pointing
a bony finger signals
your time is up!
knees start shaking
cries of hurt
bounce off the walls

whole life spent
doing nothing
you thought it was everything
accumulate money
daughters married
your name lives in
a grandchild
until the plague comes
and you die again

leave it behind
no luggage allowed
not even flesh
express train to nowhere

No contribution
to society
only a job
that you loved
professional at lying
no amateur endeavours
buy a marble
gravestone with
your winnings

gamble time over
play time over
scratch the surface
was the revealed
life too hot?
Fire element
scalds your hand
afraid you run
to mummy

all those years past
afraid of fire
go to the bee hive
eat the honey
be one with the drones

multiple regrets
held inside
death will listen
turn his head and laugh
as well
cant stop smiling
he makes you dance wild
shows you what
matters in life
blank canvas
empty skulls
books of learning
wine and women
too late for you now

dead tree looming
in the desert
no shade from
the brute sun
skin is burning
leaves are missing
sit on the root
wither and die
you are worth less
than the sand
that fills death's
hourglass
