You

You over there
face so strong
with stature overwhelming
your flowing hair is a lot like mine

Why stand out in the sun
when you are as nimble as a shadow
shifting throughout the day
and disappearing at night

Now it is cold
where I stand
skin shivering
Now im in the promised land

Why bother with so many
of flesh, bone and tongue
when it was already burnt
thanks to the greatness of man

Conquering general I salute
army by your side
beautiful and vile
with frown and smile
we shall meet soon
and we will stand eye to eye in the heavens,
draw and shoot,
you go first, my mortal flesh taught me
how to challenge your dogma
and ascend

As I sat and wondered
no forest to walk through
no perfume of a flower to smell
I looked out the window

In wait - the veritable forest!
every tree a different shape
each plant, flower, bee unique
the hardened dirt tough on the knees

As I looked
each rose was a thorn
intricately woven
to prick your nose for the red
